Dick Wimmer's true passion was writing. Catching the writing bug in college at Cornell University, Wimmer began writing his epic novels and award winning short stories. He never stop writing until he passed away.
Father to his two sons, Ceo and Geordie Wimmer. He raised both of them as a single father, instilling in them both a passion for life, sports, and success.
Wimmer also influenced countless college students as a professor of English and Creative Writing as several Universities and Colleges.
Wimmer grew up in Great Neck, NY in the 40's and 50's. Attending the prestigious Cornell University for undergraduate studies and Yale and Columbia for Post Graduate Masters studies in English and Writing.
His friendships from his school years lasted all his life and he kept in touch with many of his friends on a weekly, if not daily basis. Loved and admired by many, Wimmer had a gift for talking and relating to people.
Famous short stories about baseball written by some of the greatest writers of our time including one by Wimmer. Wimmer used this same format to publish seven (7) more books featuring the best short stories on various sports including the Gridiron Game(Football), Sandlot Game(Baseball), School Yard Game(Basketball), Fastest Game(Hockey), Women's Game, Extreme Game, and Fairway Game.
Movie and TV- Wimmer wrote many screen plays over his career.
Wimmer taught English and Creative Writing throughout his career as a professor at Universities and Colleges including Pepperdine, Moorpark, Pierce and LA Valley.
Wimmer received book reviews in the New York Times for many of his books including his first, Irish Wine. Irish Wine review was very high in praise.
